Connected Care, Trusted Data: Digital Health Wallets for Resilient Health Systems
The purpose of the Digital Health Symposium is to critically explore the role of a Digital Health Wallet as an enabling platform for strengthening health systems in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The symposium will unpack how a digital health wallet can support secure, patient-centred access to health information and services; improve continuity of care across fragmented systems; enable trust, data sovereignty and ethical data use; and facilitate more efficient linkages between individuals, communities, providers and health programmes. Through policy dialogue, case studies and practical design discussions, the symposium aims to identify context-appropriate models, governance frameworks and implementation pathways that ensure digital health wallets contribute to equity, resilience and sustainable health outcomes rather than widening existing digital divides.
